As I stated previously I get it. I like him too but he was never really a real choice before. So why now? Why are conservatives just now getting on the Santorum bandwagon? Why wait until Romney has a national organization that is more like SkyNet and enough money to buy a small country?

My point is that we conservatives need to figure out what we want. Who do we want? It's crazy. I suppose we really didn't get dealt a great hand but of all the characters who were running why wasn't Santorum attractive to begin with? Was he not "sexy" enough? Was it because he didn't have an attitude towards the media (like Cain and Newt)? It would seem that the best way to rouse the base (at least in the early going) was to get nasty with the media when they reported your personally "issues". Is this how we want to choose our conservative candidates - Who can be nasty better?

We need to start looking at what we believe about government and then start communicating that in the best possible way. Santorum has done that from the beginning. Mitt has not. Gingrich can but he is better being the reactionary (and with all his baggage...). Santorum should have been our guy from the beginning. Now, unless he can pull off some miracle, I can't see it happening.

Why does Daytona want this image? How can this be good for us? We are supposed to be a major family tourist destination and this is what we look like to the world. It can't make that much money. I say we eliminate "Spring Break" from the Volusia County vocabulary. The under-age drinking has to be stopped by stiffer penalties on those who sell it to them and tighter law enforcement. Strip joints need to be so regulated and policed that they close down. Our local governments surely understand how much more money families would be spending here if we were shed of the Spring Break image and all that comes with it.

No it wasn't. I've said all along that Santorum was a more decent candidate than Cain, Perry, Bachman, Newt, etc. but for whatever reason people were more interested in flavors of the day. I am still mystified at the Newt thing. Newt Gingrich... really? Anyhoo, Rick Santorum was always a guy that had the issues down and was likable. He would have made a very good conservative candidate but He just kept getting ignored. Now it's too late. The Romney machine may have looked slightly vulnerable last night but it was just a bump in the road for him. Santorum may have got some news time today but he really got nothing last night.

Once again, I say we get real and rally around Mitt. He will be the nominee and if he isn't or if it goes down to the wire (due to a prolonged, bloody primary campaign) we will have shot ourselves in the foot. The damage will be more than we can overcome because we will have done the work for the Democrats.

Make your mind up now about whether you can vote for Romney. If you just can't do it and you are going to be pulling the lever for some other guy to run against Obama then you will be basically pulling that lever for Obama.

Syria Heats Up

There is some talk today about our intervening in Syria. Yesterday was a bloody day as Assad's forces really took it to the city of Homs. I can't think of anyone in their right mind defending the likes of the Syrian regime but I also cannot see us getting involved in this mess. Iran must love it because it takes our eyes off the real danger to the US which is from them. We are right to be heartsick over the unfortunate plight of the Syrian people but we have to be realistic here. A nuclear bomb wielding Iran is the real threat to our safety and while Bush had us fighting wars on the wrong fronts (like Iraq) in the name of the War on Terror, we became unable to deal with the real threats to Americans (namely North Korea and Iran and the open borders he tried to ignore). It would be wonderful if we could stop the inhumanity all over the world but we cannot. We have to start thinking in terms of what threatens us or while we are intervening in struggles that often end with more chaos as a result (like Libya) we put ourselves in danger of being attacked by someone who really could.

This guy is right on with his analysis. The half-time show consisted of a has-been pop star who used her body and sex to make what career she once had and a hip hopper who flipped us off. I say we just have a half-time show about the football game we are watching and if there are those who want to see an aging pop star shuffle around like a zombie while scantily clad dancers gyrate around her then do that show afterwards or something. I am now over half-time shows and will wander off to the kitchen or the backyard from henceforth until the game starts back.

Let Me Get This Straight

If I understand what I hear Egyptians saying in interviews on various TV news shows, they are mad because the military government did not stop them from killing each other over a soccer match. Because police didn't take their knives and clubs away from them when they came into the stadium it is the governments fault that over 70 people were killed. That makes a lot of sense to me (not really, I'm being sarcastic).

If I should ever decide to kill someone over, let's say, a little league game, I suppose I could say that it is the governments fault for not stopping me from doing it. Sounds like there are more and deeper problems with Egypt than just a corrupt military dictatorship. I think it runs much deeper than that. This is a messed up culture.

When these Arab Springs sprung everyone applauded and rightly so but we must remember that these are'nt nations that have any tradition like the one we take for granted called Western/Christian civilization. Just take a look at Libya - a mess that I fear will only grow into yet a larger one. Anyway, these people just can't live together. They don't know how... unless someone or something forces them to. I also fear that it will be more radical forms of Islam that does that (or at least promises to). That will create even bigger problems for us as a result.

I would say that the best solution is converting them to Christianity. That will not happen anytime soon (it will take Jesus coming back) but I do think, for now, we may have to support rather authoritarian governments at times in some of these countries to keep the full blown militant sharia type Islamic takeover suppressed. If the Arab countries continue to destabilize, it could mean lots of trouble for us down the road. In the light of day, Mubarack seems to have kept this bunch under control. Those days (of some kind of order) may be over and this kind of thing will just call for more and harsher Islam from the people.

There is little doubt about it. Iran has pushed the envelope to the point that someone will have to do something about it. It may just be Israel. They cannot afford to allow Iran to continue with their pursuit of nuclear weaponry. Nor can we. Europe is stepping up and doing their part and that is good news. Apparently the sanctions are working because Iran is squirming (more threats). It seems clear to everyone that Iran is dangerous.

My hope is that the Obama administration is preparing us for all the contingencies. I also hope Americans will understand the gravity of the situation there. This could get ugly and we may have to either lead the way in dealing with Iran or helping Israel if they start the ball rolling. It is not going to be pleasant and we may have to shed Iranian blood. Unlike our invasion of Iraq this will be welcomed by much of the world (and will not require invasions).

Iran is led by despotic evil people. They play by no rules that we can understand. They are probably going to have to be brought down even if we can "peacefully" take care of the nuclear weapon situation in my estimation. I say we put the pressure on and keep it on until something over there breaks. If we can avoid launching planes and bombs then great but we can't be afraid to do what we must do. The leadership over there is just plain wicked and would not hesitate to kill anyone to make their nonsensical point. We can't allow them to go forward unopposed.

Many Americans have been shocked by reports about a recent pro-pedophilia conference in Baltimore in which psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, representing institutions like Harvard and Johns Hopkins, sought to present pedophilia in a sympathetic and even positive light. But why should this surprise us?

Academic articles in scholarly journals have been presenting pedophilia in a sympathetic light for years, and, as Matthew Cullinan Hoffman noted, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) released a report in 1998 “claiming that the ‘negative potential’ of adult sex with children was ‘overstated’ and that ‘the vast majority of both men and women reported no negative sexual effects from their child sexual abuse experiences.’ It even claimed that large numbers of the victims reported that their experiences were ‘positive,’ and suggested that the phrase ‘child sex abuse’ be replaced with ‘adult-child sex.’” Others have coined the more disgusting term “intergenerational intimacy.”

The APA’s report was so disturbing that it drew an official rebuke from Congress, yet the pro-pedophile (or, pro-pederast) push continues. In fact, some psychiatric leaders, like Dr. Richard Green, who were instrumental in removing homosexuality from the APA’s list of mental disorders in 1973, have been fighting to remove pedophilia as well.

Consider, for example, this statement from the late John Hopkins professor John Money: “Pedophilia and ephebophilia [referring to sexual attraction felt by an adult toward an adolescent] are no more a matter of voluntary choice than are left-handedness or color blindness. There is no known method of treatment by which they may be effectively and permanently altered, suppressed, or replaced. Punishment is useless. There is no satisfactory hypothesis, evolutionary or otherwise, as to why they exist in nature’s overall scheme of things. One must simply accept the fact that they do exist, and then, with optimum enlightenment, formulate a policy of what to do about it.”

Now, go back and reread that paragraph, substituting the word “homosexuality” for “pedophilia” and “ephebophilia.” How interesting!

To help flesh this out, let’s picture a homosexual man making his case to a heterosexual man:

1) My homosexuality is not a sexual preference but a sexual orientation, just as much as your heterosexuality is not a sexual preference but a sexual orientation.
2) My homosexuality is just as normal as your heterosexuality.
3) Since my behavior is genetically determined and is not a choice, it is intolerant and hateful to suggest that it is wrong. And to call my sexual behavior illegal or immoral, or to refuse to legitimize same-sex relationships, is to be a moral bigot of the highest order.
4) I deeply resent your attempts to identify areas of my upbringing and environment as alleged causes for my homosexuality.
5) I categorically reject the myth that someone can change his or her sexual orientation. Rather, such statements only add to the anguish and suffering of gays and lesbians, and attempts to change us often lead to catastrophic consequences, including depression and suicide. Now, let’s turn this around and have a pederast making his case to ahomosexual, substituting the words accordingly (thus, “My pederasty is not a sexual preference but a sexual orientation, just as much as yourhomosexuality is not a sexual preference but a sexual orientation.”)

In point of fact, all the principle arguments commonly used to normalize homosexuality have been used to normalize pedophilia and pederasty, as I documented in painstaking (and painful) detail in A Queer Thing Happened to America, where I also made clear that I was not equating homosexuality with pedophilia but was instead comparing the arguments used to normalize both.

Here are the eight principle arguments, all of which (in modified form) are commonly used in support of homosexuality:

1) Pedophilia is innate and immutable.
2) Pederasty is richly attested in many different cultures throughout history.
3) The claim that adult-child sexual relationships cause harm is greatly overstated and often completely inaccurate.
4) Consensual adult-child sex can actually be beneficial to the child.
5) Pederasty should not be classified as a mental disorder, since it does not cause distress to the pederast to have these desires and since the pederast can function as a normal, contributing member of society.
6) Many of the illustrious homosexuals of the past were actually pedophiles.
7) People are against intergenerational intimacy because of antiquated social standards and puritanical sexual phobias.
8) This is all about love and equality and liberation.

But none of these arguments should surprise us. After all, the age of increasing sexual anarchy in which we live is a fruit of the sexualrevolution of the 1960’s, and the seeds of sexual anarchy were sownalready by Alfred Kinsey in the late 1940’s, as Prof. Judith Reisman has tirelessly documented. And it was Kinsey, after all, who relied on theresearch of pedophiles to document the sexual responses of infants and children.

All this, to be sure, is utterly unspeakable. But it should certainlycome as no surprise. In fact, we should expect this and more.

Bachman - Rallies the base but would not win general election. She is divisive and would not be good for America right now in my opinion.

Cain - Really?

Paul - I like his ideas about the economy and foreign policy but will not win nomination.

Pawlenty - Maybe... Seems to have the right platform but he is not very exciting. Not sure who will vote for him.

Palin - I sure hope she stays out. She is all style and no substance. She is so divisive she would fracture this country significantly if nominated.

The question I keep hearing this week is does it matter if important men behave inappropriately with women.

The truth is that if we have a man who cannot control such urges governing us then we are at risk. We put ourselves in the hands of men who have no respect for women and will not respect you. The leader of the free world (with his finger on the nuclear button) would have been set up and compromised because of his weakness for women.      Our nation is sinking into godlessness and the church seems powerless to stop it. Our only hope is revival. A nation whose motto is “In God We Trust” is systematically removing God from itself socially and politically. In a nation with a distinctively Christian heritage, militant secularism seems to be prevailing. Abortion is legal. Homosexuality is accepted. Pornography is permitted. Hostility towards Christianity manifests itself in every form of media. Lewdness and profanity permeate the airwaves. Public schools distribute condoms, teach immoral practices and forbid prayer.
    The results have been devastating. Illegitimate births, teen suicides and the divorce rate have increased dramatically in recent years. In all this we must admit that no country has had more Christian organizations, radio stations, books, seminars, and churches with proportionately less impact on society. Even the church itself has been infiltrated by the decay of our culture.
    America needs revival! The only way to influence our society is genuine spiritual awakening. Human resources are inadequate. The enemy is deeply entrenched. The shifting needed requires nothing less than divine intervention. We must understand with true sobriety the gravity of our present crisis.
    There is hope! As long as God is God, awakening is possible. What He has done in the past He can do now. Let’s embrace the vision of a nation awakened and revived. May our sights be raised, our faith increased. Let us fervently seek God for a national revival.

The blockade was accepted by almost everyone because of Hamas... heck even Egypt was on board. Now all of a sudden its bad old Israel mistreating the Palestinians.

For days they were warned. All of the cargo... that which was humanitarian aid that is... would be sent in by the Israelis. They send it in all the time. You don't hear about that.

They were warned for days not to come. Then when they did the ships were asked to dock and the "aid" they were bringing would be sent to Gaza. They refused. But this wasn't about humanitarian aid to the Gazans. This was about having a confrontation with Israel for PR reasons. And our media falls hook, line and sinker for it.

Have you seen the footage of the Israeli commandos getting attacked as they boarded? Pretty convincing stuff. Have you seen the so called footage the flotilla folks provided? What was that? It shows nothing.

The response of the Greeks to the austerity measures of the government was to riot. This is a country that like many of it's European neighbors has put its citizens on the dole. Lots and lots of entitlements. Now the government has gone bankrupt. This is what happens when your government spends tons more than it takes in (not to mention the borrowing of money that goes along with that). This is what happens when you are promised a happy and easy life by letting your government take care of everything. This is what happens when socialism is the direction your society takes.

The lessons we should learn is (1) that a government can indeed spend itself into insolvency; (2) people can be taught to rely more and more on its government to take care of everything until they know no other way; (3) and when when the sugar teat dries up the people riot instead of facing up to reality. Next comes the iron fist to bring the people into line I am afraid. Thats where this always leads.

I pray this is not the direction we are headed here in America.

Bush was so "concerned" about stopping terrorism that we went half way round the world to fight a never ending war(s) and yet did nothing about the border. This is not good. A President criticizes the lawful processes in a state as it makes law. The people of Arizona have spoken. They have that right. The people living on the border states have good reason to be afraid. They have taken matters into their own hands as they should. I for one am glad they did something. Certainly no one wants abuses. Yet when citizens are killed in cold blood as the criminals cross over a largely unguarded border the people of Arizona have every right to do what they think is necessary.

As usual one suspects that the same folks that have trouble with the US Constitution and what it outlines as the parameters of Federal government would have trouble also with the states doing what they have the prerogative to do. I fear they believe that Washington DC knows whats best rather than the "irresponsible" people of Arizona.

I am very much for less government. I believe that it is growing too fast and is already on the way to bankruptcy if something isn't done soon. The Libertarian Party has always stood for a strictly constitutional framework for the Federal government. The stand they take is one that predates the Tea Party movement by decades.

The question for me is this: Can I get behind a party that believes in decriminalizing drugs and prostitution? This weighs heavily upon me. I am not sure America is ready for that. Will people vote for their candidates knowing they believe that way? Is it a viable alternative?

Now that a massive bailout of Wall Street is being debated, Heritage Foundation economic experts have laid out eight goals and strategies for lawmakers to keep in mind as they evaluate the proposed legislation.

   1. Do not prop up failed or failing institutions. Government should not try to keep failed businesses afloat; instead, as with Bear Stearns, they should "ensure that they are restructured or wound down in a way that does not cause undue disruption in the financial system as a whole."

   2. Do not try to support prices. "Policymakers should not attempt to keep stocks or housing prices from falling to their proper market-determined levels."

   3. Do not allow the government to become the permanent "owner of last resort." Any assets the government buys should be disposed of as expeditiously as possible.

   4. Strictly limit legislation to the immediate need to stabilize the financial situation. "Lawmakers should oppose any and all attempts to expand the legislation being proposed" into a bonanza for special interests or pet liberal causes.

   5. Avoid "moral hazard." Policymakers must discourage others from seeking government support by ensuring businesses receiving taxpayer funds have "skin in the game" and suffer the consequences of their miscalculations.

   6. Carefully define the Fed's role. The Federal Reserve must avoid "unwarranted mission creep" as it exercises its "lender of last resort" responsibilities to ensure liquidity.

   7. Limit taxpayer exposure and keep actions temporary. "Any new mechanism or authority to halt the deterioration in the market should ensure that affected firms pay a cost and be strictly limited in time and scope to minimize taxpayer exposure."

   8. Assure liquidity in markets but require full pricing of government insurance. As it considers providing insurance to money market funds, "the Treasury must ensure that the price of that insurance fully reflects the market risk."

Is it fair that businessmen who fail in neighborhood stores have to close shop and often sell their homes, while Wall Street titans are spared the consequences of monumental stupidity and greed?

No, it is not fair. Yet, Treasury's Hank Paulson may be right. To save the sheep who might have been wiped out in a general financial panic, we may have to save the pigs.

Life is unfair, said JFK.

Yet, this is going to be the mother of all bailouts. Paulson will be voted by Congress authority to spend $700 billion, 5 percent of our gross domestic product, to buy all that toxic paper stinking up the books of our biggest banks.

And this is not the first such bailout of foolish and incompetent financiers and politicians.

In 1975, when its cravenness to extortionate union demands had bankrupted New York, the Big Apple had to be rescued by Gerald Ford.

Marion Barry's Washington, D.C., was next in line at the cashier's window.

In the Reagan era, it was Chrysler. Later that decade, Citibank, Chase-Manhattan and Bank of America were staring into the abyss, as Latin American regimes, to whom they had lent scores of billions, were balking at paying their debts. Uncle Sam stepped in.

Then came the Mexican and Asian financial crises and the U.S.-IMF bailouts of the 1990s. The Mexican bailout was as much a rescue of Goldman-Sachs as Mexico City, as Treasury Secretary Bob Rubin's old firm was choking on all its Mexican paper.

The great myth is that these 1990s bailouts were models of U.S. financial statesmanship and great successes. The reality is the U.S. workers took it in the neck.

For the countries bailed out, like Mexico, Thailand, Indonesia and South Korea, were forced to devalue. This radically reduced the wages of their workers relative to American workers, creating incentives for U.S. manufacturers to shut plants here and move them abroad. The devaluations also slashed the price of foreign goods relative to U.S. goods. Imports flooded in.

Who ultimately paid for the Mexican bailout? Florida tomato growers wiped out by Mexican producers, the price of whose tomatoes was chopped two-thirds by the devaluation. U.S. autoworkers who saw Ford and Delphi plants shuttered as new Ford and Delphi plants opened in Mexico. U.S. textile workers whose mills closed and jobs vanished.

Middle-class American families have paid and paid -- in lost jobs, lower wages, a falling median income -- to save the big banks from the consequences of their follies. And those bank bailouts are behind the trade deficits that set five records in the Bush era, reached 6 percent of GDP, forced huge U.S. borrowings from abroad and ravaged the dollar.

Having bailed out Latin America, Mexico, Asia and their U.S. creditors, we now find our own country in trouble. And how are our allies reacting?

"Europeans on left and right ridicule U.S. money meltdown," ran the Los Angeles Times headline. Italy's finance minister compares us to corruption-ridden Albania, where "a nationwide pyramid scheme cost hundreds of thousands of people their savings and ignited anarchic civil conflict" in the 1990s.

How will the bailout work? Will every bank that brings in toxic paper be able to dump it on the Treasury? Will the Treasury buy securities based on subprime U.S. mortgages from foreign banks? Apparently so. What about mortgage-backed securities held by U.S. companies and individual investors? Is there to be a general amnesty for bad judgment, or just a bankers amnesty?

About one thing we may be sure. The U.S. deficit and national debt are going to soar. The credit rating of the United States, as this nation of non-savers has to borrow abroad to save its banks, and their banks, is going to fall. We are going to be a poorer nation and people.

As for the promises and plans of Barack Obama and John McCain -- be it for national health insurance or middle-class tax cuts -- they are going by the wayside. For the United States is as bankrupt as Lehman Brothers, with this difference: Uncle Sam can still borrow from abroad because foreigners see many juicy U.S. assets they would like to take off our hands with their hoards of ever-cheapening U.S. dollars.

Looking at the federal budget -- the five or six major items are Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defense and interest on the debt. All are going up, as tax revenues fall. Add the cost of two wars and a bailout of U.S. banks that some estimate will cost $1 trillion to $2 trillion, and we appear to be looking at budget deficits ad infinitum.

"There is a great deal of ruin in a nation," Adam Smith once consoled a friend who lamented that Britain would be ruined if the 13 Colonies were lost.

We are about to test Smith's proposition.

Boulder, CO - Despite the stratospheric commitments of U.S. foreign policy, Vice President Cheney, Senators McCain and Obama, Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and the entire U.S. Senate have endorsed the goal of expanding those commitments even further by supporting the admission of Georgia and Ukraine into NATO. This would continue the trend of expanding NATO security guarantees, which were recently extended to Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Like other treaties which have ensnared nations in bloody carnage during the last century, the NATO treaty provides a war guarantee; it commits the United States and its forces to heroic sacrifice and potentially to dangerous escalations with other nuclear armed nations. The treaty considers an attack on any alliance nation as an attack on all the member nations, and ensures the response of the alliance, militarily and in any other way deemed necessary, to restore the peace.

The recent nonsensical war in Georgia and the regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia (effectively independent of Georgia since 1991 and 1992, respectively) and the Russian intervention, illustrate the risk of extending NATO. Russian President Medvedev recently affirmed that Russia's response would have been identical if Georgia had already been in the alliance. If Georgia had been part of NATO at the time of the Russian intervention, there is great possibility that the U.S. and Russia would now be at war.

The danger of this contingency is highlighted by the Russian reliance on nuclear weapons to compensate for their degraded conventional military capability; their 2000 Military Doctrine and large scale military exercises indicate a preparedness to respond to conventional attacks on themselves and their allies, including attacks by NATO, with massive nuclear counterstrikes.

In addition to the current danger of present NATO policy, U.S. membership in the alliance is inappropriate for other reasons. As our party platform states, NATO is illegal under U.S. law because the alliance claims "authority to direct our nation's armed forces into a war [armed conflict] without the constitutional requirement of Congress declaring war. Since NATO no longer serves a defensive purpose for the United States, it is therefore time that we withdraw from NATO and permit Europe the task of defending itself."

"...By bringing Poland into NATO, we agreed to defend her against the world's largest nation, Russia, with thousands of nuclear weapons. Now the Polish regime is refusing us permission to site 10 anti-missile missiles on Polish soil, unless we pay Poland billions for the privilege.

Has Uncle Sam gone senile?

No. Tusk has Sam figured out. The old boy is so desperate to continue in his Cold War role as world's Defender of Democracy he will even pay the Europeans -- to defend Europe.

Why not tell Tusk that if he wants an air defense system, he can buy it; that we Americans are no longer willing to pay Poland for the privilege of defending Poland; that the anti-missile missile deal is off. And use cancellation of the missile shield to repair relations with a far larger and more important power, Vladimir Putin's Russia."

Concerning South Korea he writes:

Consider, too, the opening South Korea is giving us to end our 60-year commitment to defend her against the North. For weeks, Seoul hosted anti-American protests against a trade deal that allows U.S. beef into South Korea. Koreans say they fear mad-cow disease.

Yet, when a new deal was cut to limit imports to U.S. beef from cattle less than 30 months old, that too was rejected by the protesters. Behind the demonstrations lies a sediment of anti-Americanism.

In 2002, a Pew Research Center survey of 42 nations found 44 percent of South Koreans, second highest number of any country, holding an unfavorable view of the United States. A Korean survey put the figure at 53 percent, with 80 percent of youth holding a negative view. By 39 percent to 35 percent, South Koreans saw the United States as a greater threat than North Korea.

Can someone explain why we keep 30,000 troops on the DMZ of a nation whose people do not even like us?

In one month it consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400 per month. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern 'snow belt' area. It's in the South.

Gore's mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh - more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, 2006, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh-guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore's energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore's extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore's mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

"As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use," said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson. Gore's mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh - more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh-guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

I am convinced that public (government) education is in the state it is in (messed up!) because of the interference of government beyond the local school board. Here is proof. It is as if the State of Texas is granting permission to the local schools to teach a particular course... in this case a Bible course (oh my!).

How did it come to this anyway? I commend Texas for doing it but it should never have been that a state government gave permission to a local school district to do what the First Amendment allows anyway.

And whats wrong with teaching kids the most influential body of work in Western Civilization? I really don't care what a Muslim or Hindu nor an atheist thinks about it. You can't change the facts. We are a nation that was formed by people who had very Judeo-Christian idea about the world. Thats just the way it is! Get over it.

Shouldn't local school districts be able to decide for themselves what they want? Why should the state or, even worse, the Feds, tell communities what they can teach their kids. I believe those of us on the local level would know better about what we want our kids to learn.

Quit backing down folks. Don't let the folks that want to hand your kid a condom at your kid's school tell you your community school district can't teach a course on the Bible. We need to get loud about such things. "Don't tread on me."

MSNBC has ran the "Obama don't like y'all talking about his wife" story all morning. He is "infuriated," we are told, about the way she is being "criticized." One of the so called PMSNBC political "directors" even went so far as to say that no candidates wife has ever been treated like Michelle has. The talking head they were interviewing at the time promptly refuted this. He reminded them of Hilliary (as well as a couple of others). Has a candidates wife ever been raked over the coals like Hilliary was in '92? I am no fan of Hilliary but she has been ravaged by media, pundits, talk show hosts, comedians, etc like nobodies business. Talk about tough hide!

Anyway it just shows how out of it MSNBC really is. AND how much they love Obama and want him to win.

Once and only once they showed what I presume has Obama's undies in a bunch. It was the Washington State GOP ad where they play Michelle's remark about not being proud of America and some ladies then telling why they are, in fact, proud of their country. There was nothing personal about it... no one even mentioned her. I thought it was well done. And I think reasonable. Personally I would have problems with the GOP for not making much of what Michelle has said or will say.

Listen, she has put herself out there. She made a comment that I believe she should be called on. What did she mean? Why is she not proud of her country? Explain yourself woman! I would never have said that. Most Americans would never have said that. And, let me add, the ones who do... I don't want them in the White House. I want people like that to squirm a lot after saying something so disloyal. I think if you are so bold as to make such a remark that you should also have to answer to those who have a problem with it. Or, just stay home.

Barack Hussein Obama has said that Michelle "didn't sign on" for this. Huh? Come on, this is American politics in the 21st Century. Get over it Obama. We are getting a little tired of having to "apologize" to you and your wife. Are y'all really that sensitive? Who do you think you are?

The War Inside NBC

The guest list for the funeral mass for “Meet the Press” anchor Tim Russert was an “A list” of politicians and media mentionables. Real reporters mixed with the television personalities and the network executives who control their lives. It was a black day for journalism in NBC: Russert’s death released one of the last brakes slowing NBC’s descent into political activism and journalistic irrelevance.

NBC was once the proud home of real journalists. People such as Chet Huntley and David Brinkley brought its standards to -- and above -- the level prevalent in most news organizations. But now, it’s an asylum for people such as Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann.

Matthews has made himself a caricature of the liberal news anchor. In one memorable moment of the primary season he said he felt, “…this thrill going up my leg…” while listening to an Obama speech.

Were that not bad enough, NBC’s leadership -- NBC-Universal CEO Jeffrey Zucker and NBC News President Steve Capus -- are pushing the network off into liberal la-la land. Russert, who tried hard to be fair to liberals and conservatives alike, was in a shrinking minority. Except for Russert, the moderates have been marginalized in favor of hyperventilating liberals such as MSNBC dolt-laureate Keith Olbermann.

The war within NBC is between the network suits and the real journalists who remain. They see what’s happening: the suits are using NBC to make MSNBC credible and to get their political jollies.

NBC’s news reporting has long been riddled with liberal bias. But over the past two years it’s divorced itself from the news business and gone into political activism. Its programming is so biased it could be confused with a broadcast arm of the New York Times.

Exhibit A is the May 19 letter written by Presidential Counselor Ed Gillespie to NBC News president Steve Capus. The letter was precipitated by the previous night’s Nightly News broadcast of an interview with President Bush. The interview was a setup, and the tape edited deceptively to make the President’s answers to questions from reporter Richard Engel appear to be something the clearly weren’t.

A perfect sin in journalism, the editing made it appear that the President accepted Engel’s premise that Bush’s
speech to the Israeli Knesset equated negotiations with Iran to appeasement and was a calculated political attack on Barack Obama. In print journalism, this wouldn’t have made it past a rookie city desk editor. On NBC, it made the prime-time broadcast.

Gillespie’s letter went on to document a series of anti-war, anti-Bush positions NBC had taken in its reporting. What he didn’t document was the hyperbole MSNBC’s hosts engage in regularly.

Exhibit B is Olbermann’s relationship with the NBC’s leadership. Buoyed by some of the highest ratings among MSNBC’s shows, Olbermann regularly delivers himself of near-profane rants. In one last May, he advised the President to “shut the hell up.” Two years ago, he denounced then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as a “quack” pushing “fascism.” In a June 23 article in the New Yorker, Peter Boyer reports that the Rumsfeld rant earned Olbermann an attaboy from Capus.

Boyer wrote that Capus told him, “I think we’re onto something. That’s what we keep hearing from the audience, more and more, is that they appreciate that we have people who are actually speaking truth to power, or being transparent in their own personal viewpoints.”

Transparency in their personal liberal viewpoints, that is. That attitude -- and its leakage into NBC’s primary network news operation -- is the cause of the conflict within the network.

NBC’s corporate parent -- General Electric -- is feeling the heat generated by the Olbermann rants. Capus’ favorite screecher created a feud with Fox and its most
popular host, Bill O’Reilly. Olbermann had falsely accused Fox Chairman Roger Ailes of providing campaign advice to Rudy Giuliani, and was regularly attacking O’Reilly in very personal terms.

As Washington Post media columnist Howard Kurtz reported on May 19, the feud triggered high-level conversations between Ailes and Zucker as well as between News Corporation owner Rupert Murdoch and Jeffrey Immelt, chairman of GE. The latter were apparently about O’Reilly’s criticism of GE for trading with Iran.

O’Reilly’s high-temperature criticism of GE and Immelt -- calling him a “despicable human being” responsible for the deaths of American troops in Iraq -- may even have contributed to GE’s stock slide. From a high of $42.15 on October 2, 2007, GE’s shares have lost 36% of shareholder value, closing last Friday at $26.83.

That fall is comparable to the New York Times’ loss in shareholder value under Pinch Sulzberger. Liberal bias and media political activism don’t benefit shareholders.

Russert’s death left NBC’s best news show without a host in the critical time of the presidential race. Zucker and Capus have brought back liberal elder statesman Tom Brokaw to host the show until the election.

Zuker reportedly believes the future of NBC is not the broadcast news of old, but MSNBC and its online presence. According to a report published in “Broadcasting and Cable” in February, Zucker told a Harvard Business
School conference, “The definition of NBC News is really changing, and it’s becoming more MSNBC and MSNBC.com.” Zucker added, “I think [MSNBC has] found its identity. Politics is their calling card.”

As Boyer reports, politics -- going far beyond liberal bias and into political activism -- is behind the turmoil in the network. He wrote that Brokaw is uneasy about the conflict within the network: “Listen,it’s a strain,” says Tom Brokaw, the longtime anchor of ‘Nightly News,’who remains an active and revered figure at NBC. ‘And it’s under constant examination. There’s dialogue going on behind the scenes all the time. It’s not perfectly sorted out.’”

Nor will it be before November. The professional journalists in NBC are more frustrated by it every day. They know they’re losing the battle. With Russert gone, there’s no one left to stand up for them in the fight against the suits.

NBC has chosen sides, and its reporting will continue to boost Obama, attack the President and paint Sen. John McCain’s candidacy as the promise of another Bush term. Republicans -- especially senate candidates -- will be targeted as often as McCain.

When the New York Times published its thinly-sourced smear of McCain in February, implying a non-platonic relationship with an attractive lady lobbyist, McCain’s
top advisor Charlie Black told the Politico, “We’re going to war with them now.” So far, that war is entirely one-sided.

Sen. McCain needs to respond reflexively. If his campaign is to survive the media assault it will have to have its own truth squad, prepared to issue statements and make campaign commercials much faster than usual to go after the activist media.

It takes CBS, NBC or ABC --
and, of course, MSNBC -- only hours to prepare an attack ad to be passed off as news that night. If McCain’s crew cannot respond just as quickly, the war Charlie Black declared will be lost, and millions of votes with it.

Republican candidates need to do the same. There will be many close Senate races this year, and few Republicans will follow the model of John Thune’s campaign, taking on a big newspaper that was allied with his opponents. Americans know the media is riddled with bias, and they don’t respect candidates who don’t fight back.

And there’s one way for the journalists who remain at NBC: get yourselves together. Form a small committee and demand a meeting with Immelt. Make him listen and promise to restore NBC’s journalistic standards to what they should be. If he refuses, start circulating your resumes. There will be no future for you with the Olbermann Network.

When will the scientists come up with the means for us to get along without it? When will we be driving electric cars? How long before ethanol actually becomes an alternative fuel source? And who will be able to afford it?

It will be a long long time Arnold. I guarantee you that we will be pumping lots of crude from our own resources decades before there will be any viable alternative sources of energy. There is a lot of talk. People have all kinds of theories about what we can do. But we are a long way from getting away from our oil addiction.

We need oil! We need to keep it flowing. We need to be able to afford it. No doubt we will not be able to depend on the Middle Eastern variety. That could get real tricky in days to come. So why can't we do as so many other countries do? Why don't we drill our own? At least as much as we can. I don't get it.

SAME-SEX ATTRACTION, CAUSES AND CURES

Dozens of gay and lesbian couples were married in California Monday evening, starting at 5:01pm when same-sex marriages officially became legal in the state. Some of those who rushed to sign up for marriage licenses were from out-of-state; unlike Massachusetts, California has no law requiring residency to obtain a marriage license. All of the new unions may yet be nullified, though. California voters can go to the polls in November to overturn the state Supreme Court’s ruling, and reinstate the state ban on same-sex marriages.

The promotion of gay marriage pulls from two basic assumptions, that:
1) homosexual attraction is inborn and genetic;
2) homosexual attraction, though found in a relatively small portion of the population, is still normal and harmless.

If people believe that homosexuals are normal and are truly “born that way”, then it is easy to argue that gay and lesbian couples should be allowed to marry just as other minorities are allowed to marry. These consider discrimination against same-sex couples as a cruel denial of basic human rights.

The gay and lesbian political machine has been working hard for decades to promote those two assumptions. Neither, however, is close to having been proven. While a significant number of gays and lesbians truly feel that they were “different” from birth, there is little to prove that same-sex attraction is purely genetic. Homosexuality flies in the face of basic laws of procreation, and cannot therefore be considered “normal”, and there is plenty of evidence that the lifestyles of gay men tend to be anything other than harmless.

In July, 1993, the magazine Science announced the existence of the “gay gene.” Of course, what the research actually determined was more like, “There could possibly be maybe a chance that this particular gene could conceivably have an influence on being gay. Sort of.” Unfortunately, many people in the public assumed an actual gay gene had been found, and the idea that people are “born gay” took off.

In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association voted to remove homosexuality from the list of psychiatric illnesses. According to a survey reported in the journal Medical Aspects of Human Sexuality in 1977, though, 69 percent of psychiatrists still considered homosexuality a disorder.

The fact is that the “experts” don’t know exactly what causes homosexual attraction. The APA does see it as a combination of nature and nurture. Certain trends pop up, though. Sensitive personalities, poor relationships with fathers, forceful mothers, trauma in childhood, early sexual activity and/or molestation, early rejection by peers – things that leave small children longing for love or acceptance, or that create an extreme sense of inadequacy – are the sorts of things in the backgrounds of many unwilling homosexuals. Then there is the spiritual aspect, which is even harder to nail down in politically correct America.

Ex-Gays

Perhaps the biggest arguments against the “born that way” mantra are the many men and women who have changed. The process is often difficult and takes a long time and careful, loving therapy. When the foundational causes of the same-sex attraction are addressed and dealt with, however, significant numbers of once-homosexuals have become heterosexual. They have been freed from something that was a chain around their necks and hearts, and have rejoiced in becoming whole.

Former lesbian Debbie Thurman says, “I can count myself among the growing numbers of men and women who have overcome a significant struggle with same-sex attraction. While our stories and the degree to which we have found wholeness may be different, the central themes are often similar. Frequently, you will find we came from broken homes, were alienated from one or both parents, were sexually abused as children, are sensitive by temperament, and suffered from depression.

"…Sticky problems arise when a number of those who have 'always felt' homosexual begin moving along the continuum of feeling less so, and at the same time, actually begin feeling better about themselves. How dare we forsake the gay cause célebrè? Like crabs trying to escape from a bucket, gay activists begin dragging us down.

“Detractors insist that measurable results must be quick, and that change 'isn't change' if it requires a long process. These same people generally see life as a continual 'journey' in all other respects. But if someone gives up during the long process, that is somehow 'proof' that change is a sham. Never mind that overeaters, alcoholics or drug addicts fall off the wagon every day. The standard for sexual identity change remains 'all or nothing'!

“So where are the mental health professionals who will stand up and challenge these untruths? Why do they allow the APA to hijack the truth?”

Regardless of what the politically-charged APA accepts, the Bible consistently condemns same-sex sexual intercourse as wrong. At the same time, Jesus Christ specifically came to save those who were lost. That’s all of us. He loves us. He died for our sins, and through the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives, we can all be freed from the various chains that hang around our necks. According to Paul in Romans 1:18-32, homosexuality has a root cause in a culture’s turning away from God the Creator. It’s easy to attack people lost in same-sex attraction, but we are all responsible as a culture to truly put Christ first in our lives, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. If we do that, maybe we will have fewer young people falling prey to the lie of homosexuality.

What Is Conservatism?

It would seem that the conservative movement is now in a state of flux. We have Goldwater conservatives, neo-conservatives, libertarian conservatives and paleo-conservatives. Before the Bush disaster there were just conservatives. Now we who are conservatives have to identify ourselves with a certain camp so as to distance ourselves from those who are like the ilk that drug us down with Bush.

The above link is to an interesting article by Chuck Colson on what is true conservatism. If I am not mistaken, Russell Kirk identified six principles of conservatism and Colson deals with the first. This first principle is that there exists an enduring moral order. With that said I cannot imagine a Christian who would not consider himself a conservative. And I can also see that there may be differing kinds. What do you think? What are some non-negotiable principles of conservatism?

Maybe... hopefully... the fight will be on. It's about time for the issues to become the issue. We have had to endure four solid months of the Obama-Hilliary popularity contest and America has yet to actually engage in a Presidential campaign based on where people stand on the issues we face.

Although I am afraid Americans are becoming less concerned about the abortion issue at least McCain has the right view on the appointment of judges on the Federal level. "My nominees will understand that there are clear limits to the scope of judicial power, and clear limits to the scope of federal power,"McCain said Tuesday in a speech at Wake Forest University. I am with him on this big time. Activist judges (uber liberal elitist types) are going to "bury" the constitution unless we can start putting more folks in there who understand "the proper role of judges in government."
"Senator Obama in particular likes to talk up his background as a lecturer on law, and also as someone who can work across the aisle to get things done," McCain said. "But ... he went right along with the partisan crowd, and was among the 22 senators to vote against this highly qualified nominee."
"Apparently, nobody quite fits the bill except for an elite group of activist judges, lawyers, and law professors who think they know wisdom when they see it — and they see it only in each other," McCain said.
Well said. If there is one thing that Bush has done right (and I am no fan) it was to appoint good men (although I am still scratching my head at the Harriett Myers fiasco) to the bench. I believe that McCain would be the best for job in this regard. We Christians need to think about that. So, on the issue of abortion and appointment of judges (which go hand in hand) I will put a mark by McCain's name.

In "Whose words matter?" (Letters, April 18) Charles Gardner copied part of Sen. Barack Obama's now famous speech on race and then asked: "Does it really matter what the Rev. Jeremiah Wright said?"
Yes it does, and here's why. Anyone can write a moving speech. Some of the most murderous tyrants in history gave magnificent speeches. You can't tell what's in a man's (or woman's) heart or what he really believes from prepared, practiced speeches -- especially in an election year when politicians will take whatever position is necessary to win. You learn someone's character from his actions and unprepared statements. They tell you more than any prepared speech can.
Obama has so far made two statements that -- contrary to what his supporters say -- were not just poorly chosen but seem to go to his core beliefs. The first was the "typical white person" reference to his grandmother. Obama's view of white people became crystal clear. Had a white man used the phrase "typical black person," we would consider him a racist. Maybe Obama's not as far from the beliefs of his church's former leader as he would like us to think.
The second statement was that smalltown Americans cling to their guns and religion because of financial frustration. Here, too, I suspect he stated his true feelings about those of us who live in "fly over land" (as his elitist peers like to call us). To those he associates with -- and perhaps Obama himself -- we gun-totin', Bible-preachin', racist, ignorant hicks are too stupid to understand how things really are and need the enlightened "them" to lead us.
So what about Wright? Obama spent 20 years listening to Wright preach. Did none of Wright's radical views rub off? How much black liberation theology does Obama follow?
And Obama's been married since 1992. How much of his wife's "there's nothing America has done in her lifetime to be proud of" does he agree with? Do we really believe that in 16 years of marriage she has had no influence on his views -- and won't have if he's president?
What we need to learn is what Obama's view of America really is. Is it a view based on what his prepared speeches say -- good people, individual freedom and capitalistic opportunity -- or is it a view based on the elitist socialist hate-America ideas of those he associates and lives with and that creep out when he's unscripted?
That is the reason Wright's words are so important.

And yet I really don't hear the outcry from taxpayers this deserves. This is occuring on every level of government. We are just letting our government get more and more out of control. What Is Black Liberation Theology by Jan Markell

For the last several weeks the news has been replete with stories about Barack Obama's pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. You would have to see the news clips to grasp the extremity of his views and intensity of his words. While America is not perfect, to see her cursed in a church pulpit has been troubling, disheartening, and even sickening.

Barack Obama sat under this for 22 years and he wants to have the most powerful position in the entire world: President of the United States. But he didn't get gospel preaching under Wright -- he got instruction that revolves around a belief system called Black Liberation Theology. So what is that?

The most prominent leader of Black Liberation Theology is Rev. James Cone whose 1969 book Black Liberation and Black Power was hugely influential in disseminating the beliefs of this movement. Those who have examined it suggest that the belief system of Rev. Jeremiah Wright of Trinity United Church of Christ mirrors those of Cone: Jesus is black, Marxism can aid in a true understanding of the gospels, and the white church in America is evil or, some might even say, is the Antichrist.

Cone argued that the white church and white theologians had all failed in their duties to uphold biblical principles of helping the poor and marginalized of society. Indeed, in Cone's view, white Christians had become actively complicit in making the lives of others worse. Because of this, it was no longer acceptable to leave the interpretation of the Bible to white Christians.

Black Liberation Theology is dangerous, unscriptural and misrepresents "white efforts" to help the poor. The fact is, most humanitarian agencies have white leadership and white Christians support the organizations. But Cone didn't stop with just whites: He also criticized middle-class black churches. He felt all black churches should speak out as Rev. Wright has been doing for decades.

Now The Washington Times has come out with information to make the scenario even worse. They state in their April 2, 2008 issue, "The church where Sen. Barack Obama has worshipped for two decades publicly declares that its ministry is founded on a 1960s book that espouses 'the destruction of the white enemy.' They quote Cone as saying, 'What we need is the divine love as expressed in black power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject His love."

This is bizarre, yet a spokesman for Obama says, "It's absurd to suggest that Obama or anyone should be held responsible for every quote in every book read by a member of their church."

Wait a minute! We aren't only dealing with a quote or a book! We're talking about a candidate for President of the United States who has remained in a congregation for 22 years that appears to espouse some of the principles above. To have anything to do with Black Liberation Theology is to identify with hard-core Socialism and possibly even Marxism. It comes out of their own mouths.

Every serious church attendee looks into the belief system for the church they choose to attend -- as I have done several times -- because every church has a statement of faith. Even Trinity United Church of Christ is bold about their statement of faith and it is easily accessible.

Where is the outrage that over many years such a fury flourishes in America as Black Liberation Theology? If one looks carefully at it, the principles are almost that of a jihadist! This goes well beyond the antics of the "religious left" and makes them look like moderates -- which, by comparison, they are.

Pray for our churches today. Whether they are caught up in wrong theology or dangerous theology, God has not forgotten them nor should we. America will be as strong or weak as her churches are.

Even after the Jeremiah Wright-Obama scandal has received the attention it has always deserved, the news media outlets continue to manifest their obvious love for him. He's still the anointed one for CNN, MSNBC and their ilk. All Obama-positive and Hilliary-negative angles with McCain irrelevant... all the time. Of course, the possible exception here is Fox News. That's a given.

But I say the biggest story to this point, and the one that gets little attention by these Obamite news networks, is that John McCain is either ahead, tied or slightly behind either Democrat going head to head in most polls. McCain sure isn't getting any coverage from the news channels. He is still presented as a ill tempered old man by them. Yet the guy is running neck and neck with the Democratic candidates, particularly the messianic one from Chicago. The one that Ophrah the Talker "prepared the way for."

That should be very big news in my opinion.

So why ain't it?

Because these networks and news shows are run by liberals and they are spinning. I guess that really isn't big news to most but come on...really. Even Saturday Night Live got it. How much more proof does anyone need? Could it be more obvious that they hope Obama gets the nomination? And how much clearer does it have to be that they have thrown their previous hero under the bus (Billiary)?

Chris Matthews is just as well to wear a big "Vote For Obama" button on his lapel while he does his "show." Who is he (and his news-brethren) kidding? Not me.

The following is from J. Lee Grady's column, "Fire In My Bones." I think he speaks for evangelical/Pentecostal Christianity regarding the Obama/Wright affair. He certainly is speaking on my behalf.

"Wright has been Obama’s pastor for more than two decades. He married Barack and Michelle Obama in 1992 and later baptized their two daughters. He counseled Obama during his early political life on Chicago’s South Side. Wright’s sermon called “The Audacity of Hope” became the inspiration for Obama’s 2004 speech at the Democratic National Convention. That led to Obama’s best-selling book by the same name. Until this month, Wright served on Obama’s presidential campaign. He has been a quiet and abiding force behind Obama’s impressive rise to political messiah status.

But after the media stumbled onto Wright’s incendiary, hate-filled rhetoric—including a sermon in which he said Sept. 11 was a wake-up call to “white America”—Obama had to distance himself from his maverick pastor. And Obama disappointed us all when, in true Clintonian fashion, he claimed that he really didn’t know Wright spewed so much venom from his pulpit.

Yeah, right. Are we to assume that Obama was sleeping during 20 years of sermons? Considering the decibels produced by Wright’s impassioned oratory, I don’t think that’s possible.

No one could attend a church for 20 years—especially one led by such a controversial and outspoken radical as Wright—without knowing what that pastor believes. Consider these uncomfortable facts about Wright:

** He pastored Trinity, the largest congregation in the ultraliberal United Church of Christ (UCC), from 1972 until this year, when he retired. Fully committed to an agenda of black empowerment, Trinity is also known in Chicago for its inclusion of homosexuals. It has helped lead the UCC’s aggressive efforts to sanctify gay marriage. (Oprah Winfrey, our national New Age priestess, is also a member of Trinity—which makes me wonder what they teach kids in Sunday school.)

** Wright proudly touts himself as a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: “Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community.” (Note: This is called idolatry—fashioning a god in your own image.)

** Wright, who is 66, has often aligned himself with non-Christian influences including the militant African National Congress and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Trinity’s magazine honored Farrakhan in the 1980s. This year Obama deftly distanced himself from Farrakhan and said he does not share his pastor’s support of the Muslim leader. (Nice try, bro, but we needed to hear a much stronger denunciation of Farrakhan’s toxic beliefs.)

** In various sermons that have reportedly been removed from Trinity’s bookstore recently, Wright clearly condemns the United States. He once said the song “God Bless America” should actually say “God Damn America,” he has claimed that the U.S. government created the AIDS virus to kill black people, and he often rants about “the United States of white America” while denouncing white evangelical leaders.

Perhaps before we welcome Obama as our national savior we should consider the questionable prophet who anointed him when he was just a young politician. Personally I don’t trust the oil that Wright has used to christen this new king.

I understand that African-Americans who have been mistreated in our society are frustrated. Racism is wrong and it must be continually challenged. But Martin Luther King Jr., a man who believed the Bible, taught us in the 1960s that the path to racial healing begins with forgiveness. Jeremiah Wright has rejected that path. He preaches a gospel of hate, bitterness and alienation. He is certainly not empowering the black community with a counterfeit religion that idolizes race, ignores biblical holiness and denies Christ as the only source of salvation."

I sure hope America thinks clearly when they enter that voting booth come November.

So now he is proclaiming that Jesus would approve of same sex unions. This is the guy who says he prays to Jesus every night. I am not going to say that he doesn't but has he bothered to read the Book this Jesus wrote? You know the one that says "Holy Bible" on the cover. He didn't approve of sodomites in the Old Testament nor in the New one.

I really can't imagine an evangelical Christian voting for this guy. He is as liberal as the day is long. There is not one social issue that he is even close on as far as we conservative Christian types are concerned. I hope Christians... the Bible believing ones... vote come November. What a shame if they don't and we wind up with someone using Scripture to support gay marriage in the White House.
